Vacancy : Web Developer PHP/MySQL

We’re looking for a computer science graduate to join the Web Development team at Eden Ecommerce Ltd in Chester. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business and to develop a technical career in a company that values innovation and creativity.

First off, you’ll learn about our systems and business processes by working with our development team. Your work will include any system enhancements that are needed, as well as picking up project work once your feet are under the table.

You’ll be working with a motivated team to gain a wealth of experience in cutting edge projects involving ecommerce and social media, gaining broad experience in integrating business and marketing systems.

Main Tasks of Job

• professional planning of technical specifications and solutions for software systems
• develop software for front-end and back-end systems
• specify acceptance tests for BETA and release software
• thoroughly test software before BETA release
• ensure security and data protection measures through good programming practice
• maintain software through its lifespan in the system.

Requirements
As a recent graduate we’re not expecting you to know all there is to know in your areas of interest. We are however looking for you to:

• show technical aptitude and know what makes a good piece of code
• understand the fundamentals of good database design
• have a working knowledge of writing SQL queries
• be confident in one of: PHP, C, C++, C#, Python or Java
• have experience working with HTML, CSS, Javascript
• have a demonstrable ability to focus and get things done
• be a true team player
