By this simple work, I intend to show the role and function of the blessed Holy Spirit in Evangelism. He is the Spirit of harvest, The Greatest Soul-Winner. His involvement in Evangelism is inseparable from the involvement of the Father and the Son. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit planned and executed the great work of redemption. We cannot draw a clear line of demarcation in each of the Three Persons in the Trinity when we talk about Evangelism. What the Father does, the Son and the Spirit do perfectly, equally, and gloriously. The Church has neglected the Spirit of Evangelism in her evangelistic work; that is a paradox. We cannot have any result in our humanly device schemes and strategies; we need the Spirit of Evangelism to help us as He did in the early Church.Presently we fall short of this mandate and the activities therein. We are not doing the Holy Spirit Evangelism. When last does your church go out to evangelize? On the other hand, what genuine evangelistic program based on the above mandate does your church have in place up until now? Church administration is never Evangelism and Discipleship. Church financing and project is never soul winning. Social programs are never reaching out to the lost-they are just tools or means to an end and not the real Evangelism as Jesus spelt Evangelism out for his Church. The present-day churches need revival in Evangelism and Discipleship program. I believe that is what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church of Christ now is that. We need to allow Him.
This is the period in humanity when the opportunity to evangelize abound. The Church of Christ must never miss it. We have resources nowadays than the time of Paul. God will judge us if we neglect to heed what the Holy Spirit is saying to us about the perishing souls of men that the Son of God came to redeem with his precious blood. We need to remember always that He who says, "Go" has gone before us by his Spirit. If the Spirit has gone before us our work becomes much easier because we are not the one doing it but the Holy Spirit.
