John Suddards murder - man charged

A man has been charged with the murder of vicar John Suddards.

Stephen Farrow, 47, is accused of the murder of Rev John Suddards in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, between the 13th and 14th February 2012, and the murder of Betty Yates in Bewdley between the 1st and the 5th January 2012.

The body of Rev Suddards, 59, was found by builders who had arrived to work do some work on his vicarage.

Betty Yates, a 77 year old retired teacher from Worcestershire, was stabbed to death in January. Police said she had also been beaten.

Farrow, of Folkestone, Kent,also faces a charge of burglary relating to a separate address in Thornbury between the 21st December 2011 and the 3rd January 2012.

He was arrested on Sunday following a tip off, and is due to appear at North Avon Magistrates court tomorrow.
