During the time of Judges, people did what was right in their own eyes. As a result, God let Israel's enemies cause them great distress. But, when God could take His people's oppression no longer he would send Judges to save them. Sampson was one of these Judges, but just like his people Sampson had his flaws. Yet, God never abandoned Samson in His purpose.

Hebrews 13:5-6

"...Be content in what you have; for he Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,"
so that we confidently say,
"The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?"
