Through Joshua, God finally fulfils his promise He made to Abraham so long ago; that the Hebrews would become a great nation. Just as God had a plan for the ancient Hebrews God has a plan for all of us as well. Because God has a plan for us we know He will never forsake us.

Hebrews 13:5-6

"...Be content in what you have; for he Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,"

so that we confidently say,
"The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?"
