The Perfect Wave DVD Review

This didn’t turn out how I thought it would. I thought this was yet another Prodigal Son movie but it’s not – it’s based on a true story. Surfing fanatic Ian McCormack sets out from his comfortable family home and life in New Zealand to seek out ‘the perfect wave’. In many ways it’s the ultimate road trip travelling across Australia to Bali, to South Africa and finally to Mauritius. Whilst night diving he is stung by a deadly box jellyfish. At the hospital, despite the efforts of the medical team, he is pronounced dead. He has a ‘near-death’ experience, meets with God and is given his life back ... to return and tell people that Jesus is for real. Ian McCormack leads Kingsgate Christian fellowship in London and has impacted millions of people through his testimony. Great surfing footage, together with the message God’s amazing grace and love, make this a good DVD to share with young people.
