Manna Christian Centre in Streatham has recently undergone lengthy negotiations with their landlord over a huge proposed rent increase. Manna’s Dave Lock commented, “Rather than seeing this as the end of the bookshop that has been in the High Road for 34 years it has renewed our passion to see a Christian bookshop and witness in the centre of the town’s community.”
Inspired with a vision of seeing God’s Kingdom in South London they are relaunching, focusing on two activities:
- Distributing Christian resources from the “Manna Bookshop” (ground floor); and,
- Running “The Manna Light House” (1st floor), a welcoming, neutral and safe mission station, including a potential 24/7 prayer room, dedicated to restoring the lives of individuals excluded from the community who presently do not “do” church.
Aimed to significantly transform the spiritual climate of South London, the Manna House will emphasize to those in need that “there’s a place for YOU in God’s Kingdom”.
