Due for release on 22nd May 2012, 'The Hurt & The Healer' looks set to bless worshippers worldwide.
For a band whose name came about through a grandmother's complaints to lead singer Bart Millard: 'Well mercy me why don't you get a real job?!' MercyMe have done very well. With 2002 debut album 'Almost There' reaching double platinum with 2 million sales, there has been no question that the public reception of MercyMe has been overwhelmingly positive.
Since 2002, MercyMe have released 11 more albums, with singles topping the iTunes Christian chart numerous times, while continued assaults have been made on the mainstream charts as well. Overall, hit singles and albums have come naturally to MercyMe over the past ten years, and they are showing no signs of faltering.
Eden.co.uk are pleased to announce the release of 'The Hurt & The Healer' - an album complete with the trademark rock guitar, power vocals and scintillating lyrics that we have come to expect of MercyMe. A friend once remarked to me (of Bart) that 'this singer's vocals are wasted on Christian music' - I can't say I fully agree with him, but the blessing that Bart brings to the Christian music industry can't be overstated.
Bart explains that 'The Hurt & the Healer is a celebration of that moment when these two worlds collide... the deep need for healing and the God who provides it.' With the title single already available to listen to online, the popular response has already been encouraging. The song has provided inspiration for those who are suffering and hurting, and is being sung worldwide by worshippers in thanks for God's healing power.
