Mark Clifford joins Kuperard Publishing

Mark Clifford has joined Kuperard Publishing as Sales Development Executive with specific responsibility for developing sales of the Harper One ( books and Bibles), Howard and Convergent lists which Kuperard distribute in the UK.

Clifford has worked in the book trade for almost 32 years, starting his career at the Cornerstone Bookshop in Finchley then managing the Scripture Union and Wesley Owen bookshops in Watford and Croydon.

From 1995 until 2005 he was Retail Co-Ordinator at Church House Bookshop in Westminster, almost doubling the annual turnover. He oversaw the development of one of the first Christian bookshop websites in the UK, worked closely with Church House Publishing and won the Christian Retailer of the Year award in 1998.

In 2005, he moved on to manage Sarum College Bookshop in Salisbury before setting up his own bookshop, Sarum Books, in the city replacing the SPCK shop.

A member of the executive committee of the Christian Booksellers Group of the Booksellers Association since 1997, Mark served as chairman from 2002 – 04 and from 2006 – 13. As such, he was involved in the development of Christian Resources Together (CRT). He has written many articles for trade magazines and has also done radio work, including several interviews with the BBC.

Kuperard have exclusive UK distribution for various religious imprints of US publishers such as Penguin Random House, HarperCollins and Simon and Schuster.
