Operating in Wandsworth, London, we want all children aged 0 to 11 years to have frequent, positive reading experiences. We train teams of volunteers to give one-to-one support in primary schools. We run early literacy classes for parents and toddlers. We encourage and equip parents to support their children's reading at home.


The principal activity of the Rock will be the provision of a youth facility at the (former) Church of St Peter, Cheltenham and its adjacent hall. From April 2010 this facility has been available to all young people regardless of background providing both formal and informal activities and opportunities to develop skills, education, welfare and spiritual wellbeing.

CAH provide low cost activity holidays for 12 to 17 yr olds. Each year, in school summer holidays, we hire Bassenfell Manor Christian Centre and run five consecutive weeks each attended by approx. 40 young people.Campers do a range of activities (eg:Sailing; Kayaking; Mountain Walking etc) as well as Bible studies. The cost to those able to pay is £268 per wk however weeks are free when necessary.

We provide a Christian schoolsworker to the local secondary schools in the Letchworth & Baldock area at no cost to schools engaged in lesson support, lunchtime clubs and taking assemblies.

Conferences, workshops, regular newsletters and a termly magazine Early Days together with meetings and visits offer nurture and support for Early Years practitioners and settings holding Christian values. We advocate a holistic approach to early years care and education. Through social media we build relationships amongst our partners and engage with good practice in the UK and overseas.
