What is salvation? Why do I need it? There are a lot of questions, beliefs, theories, and topics surrounding the subject. What is the basis of salvation? What is the means to obtain salvation. Several terms and verses in the Bible accompany the issue of salvation. Is salvation a matter of faith? Is salvation a matter of taking what Kierkegaard referred to as a leap? Is it a matter of taking a step of faith as one theologian referred to as such?
It would be an understatement to say that there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about salvation. The teaching of salvation is referred to as Soteriology.
