ABOUT THE BOOK

Dr. William Bell is a devout Christian and a theological pioneer in four areas: (1) the emotionality of God, (2) the image of God in humans, (3) the nature and cure of original sin, and (4) the application of cognitive dissonance in order to understand the mind of God and the Atonement.

Besides these issues, this book delves into a lucid examination of the two horrendous certainties of human existence (namely suffering and death), also why God allows evil and suffering to exist in a world of His creation, and why the incarnate Jesus completely embraced this human curse. The book also has a comprehensive section tracing the history of the atonement from prehistoric to modern times

A RECOMMENDATION

Dr. John Bowling is an accomplished author of numerous books and was president of Olivet Nazarene University for a record 30 years, twice declining his election as General Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene. When he retired, he served as interim president of Northern Seminary in Lombard Illinois, then interim president of Nazarene Bible College. He sent this unsolicited response upon receiving a copy of this book. "I am pleased to recommend Dr. William Bell's manuscript on the doctrine of the atonement, the problem of evil, and original sin. The book presents extensive research, coupled with a careful analysis, concerning the history of the church's understanding of the atonement, noting the strengths and weaknesses of the primary theories. Beyond that, Dr. Bell presents a new fresh theory__,__ Christus Reconciliator. This work will be of significant value to scholars as well as pastors and laymen."
