      Product Description

This study in the Legacy of Christ series encompasses a snapshot of various events that have occurred in the life of our Lord throughout the Gospel of John. They are not chronological events but rather theological explanations in the study of the life of Christ; His Sonship, His Kingship, His Priesthood, His office as the Son of Man, and how He is represented in the covenants and feasts of Israel celebrating His life as the Messiah and more importantly declaring Him the Son of the Living God. It is the intention of the author of this study to exegete the more significant feasts, discourses, and signs that expound on the nature of our Lord, His redemptive work, His Temple ministry, and the revelation of His unity with the Father. It is not an exhaustive study and it was never meant to be. However, it will give the student a knowledge of the holy and Jesus' importance to the National Life of Israel, the Temple. The Apostle who wrote this Gospel was likely the closest to our Lord in His ministry. He laid His head upon His breast at the last supper indicating a strong bond of brotherly love; He charged him with the oversight of His mother when nailed to the cross, as a last declaration of His trust and love; He charged him with the oversight of the Jewish church, He anointed him with the vision of the last days before His return through the penning of Revelation; he is best known as the Love Disciple. Predominant in this Gospel are the constant themes of Life, Light, and Love. You will read how the National Life of Israel is present in the Temple; its importance to the people of Israel; how the life of Israel is expectant on the coming of the Messiah. The Gospel of John brings a new dimension to the life of our Lord regarding the other Gospels. It brings a spiritual interpretation to the relationship He had with the Father and gives the reader an understanding of the role of Christ in the redemptive work of man, the defeat of the powers of darkness, and the new creation. In chapters 1 and 2 the study will discuss the Christological importance of The Revelation of the Word in Eternity, in Creation, and in Redemption. It will give a crowning witness to the end of the Old Dispensation through John the Baptist and an opening witness to the New Dispensation by the choosing of the twelve. This series will discuss the great signs and public discourses of the Water and the Wine; the cleansing of the Temple; and the Feast of Passover. It has questions at the end of each chapter to give this series a simplistic bible study for any small group with teacher's notes and the answers to the questions at the end of the book. The Word Made Flesh gives us an outstanding insight to the greatest event in human history. The Incarnate Word dwells among us.
