Why I Believe the Bible: A Personal Defense of Sola Scriptura

Menno Zweers was not a seeker who wandered into theological error from the outside. He was born into it, raised from infancy inside the New Apostolic Reformation, shaped by its assumptions before he had the capacity to question them, formed by a succession of churches in the Netherlands, Minneapolis, and Nashville that all belonged to the same global network of apostolic error. He did not know another Christianity existed until the unraveling began.

Menno traces his journey from the Dutch Pentecostal churches of his childhood through the Word of Faith movement, the Kansas City Prophets, the Toronto Blessing, and the New Apostolic Reformation networks that connected them all, documenting church by church what it costs to discover that the only authority that was ever trustworthy was the one he had been taught to supplement.

Along the way he examines the biblical foundations of Sola Scriptura, the Reformation's recovery of it, the specific ways the NAR and charismatic movements contradict it, and the practical question every believer must eventually face: is the Bible truly enough, completely, finally, without addition?

His answer is yes. And this book is the testimony of a man who had to lose everything else to reach it.
