Lesley Orr is a historian, writer and activist, previously at Glasgow University and currently based at Scottish Womens Aid to develop the Scottish Governments national strategy to address violence against women. She has degrees in philosophy, politics, theology and ecclesiastical history, and was consultant to the World Council of Churches project Overcoming Violence Against Women. She also coordinated an action-research project at Edinburgh University entitled Out of the Shadows: Christianity and violence against women in Scotland.
