This sequel to Escape to Freedom finds the main characters from the first book, Joshua Wright and his lifelong friend and self-proclaimed brother, Toby Wright, in the heat of the battle during the Civil War. They've both joined the forty-fifth Negro Regiment and Joshua's presence isn't sitting well with Tate Johnson, the regiments leader, which results in friction between the two throughout most of the narrative.
Join Joshua and Toby as they form new friendships with those in the fight with them as well as one individual in particular whose sacrifice is responsible for saving many of their comrades along the way.
Even though the names of some of the Captains and Generals as well as some of the battle locations are accurate, this book is a work of fiction meant to show that even through the worst of circumstances that prayers can be answered and that God's love, guidance and redemption can be found.
