      Product Description

Sara Robinson is a young Black girl who had to grow up too soon. After her parents divorced, when she was ten years old, she became the surrogate mom to her siblings. Raised in a small working class segregated town, Elkhart Indiana, she was accustomed to the protective arms of her tight knit community. As with any child given too much responsibility, her relationship with her mother is complicated. On one hand she longs for motherly love and companionship. On the other hand, she is resentful for being pushed into a role of parenting and for missing out in all that childhood had to offer.

Her life takes a turn for the better when she is drawn into a church while running an errand. It's the singing voice of an angel that captured her heart and attention, compelling her to enter. Once inside, Sara is touched by the music and the kindness of others. It is during this time when she hears the call from God. Accepting it, she welcomes her new church family into her life. The first lady of the church gives her the love, support and attention she longed for and now, with an open heart, she begins to see the world differently.

She dedicates her life, heart and trust to the church and its members. After Sara grows up in the church and plans for her high school graduation, her world is shattered. Her innocence and faith are stripped away by the one person she trusts the most: Pastor Christopher Stansfield, a man seen as a faithful husband, a kind and generous pastor, and a pillar of the community. However, unknown to most, is the truth. Pastor Stanfield was hand-picked by an aging Elder of the church to lead a lucrative underground responsible for the disappearance of young girls and selling them into an unforgiving life. Thrust into an unforgiving life, her faith is challenged, her hope is destroyed, and her innocence is stripped away. Along the way, God sends people to guide her and strengthen her for the battle ahead: to act out the revenge of God.

Sara's story reveals the manipulation of women in the church in small-town communities, many of whom are pushed into self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness by the men who pervert the word of God. And like Sara, the hope is that they are guided to find their voice, their strength and justice when faced with Spiritual Wickedness in High Places.
