Thirty-Three Dates with God: Growing closer to God through Lectio Divina

Have you ever been a little jealous or suspicious when someone said God had spoken to them? Have you ever felt a little "less Christian" for not having heard from Him yourself? All that is going to change with this book! If you are like most of us, we don't run across burning bushes or talking donkeys very often. So how does God speak to us these days? How do we tune our ears to His voice?

Good news! You don't need a divinity degree or even know the books of the Bible in order. God speaks to each of us regardless of where we have been, what we have done, or where we are in our faith. God's word is living and relevant. He has something personal, specific, and meaningful to share with us. In all relationships, sometimes we just need to stop talking and listen and let the other person be heard.

This book takes you on thirty-three dates with God. You will move gradually from first date material, where I walk you through each step of scripture meditation, based on an ancient practice called Lectio Divina. Gradually, you will move to complete independence in your time with God. By taking time to sit in His presence and listen for His voice through Lectio Divina, you will experience God personally and learn to recognize His voice. No one can give you this skill. Like all relationships, it takes time and must be cultivated. Through scripture meditation, you will be the one saying,
"God spoke to me and said . . . "
