There is a path worn smooth by the feet of the faithful.

It winds through the ancient world - through the fields where Abel worshipped, through the roads where Enoch walked, through the shipyard where Noah hammered, through the deserts where Abraham wandered, through the tents where Sarah laughed and then wept and then laughed again with joy. It crosses the ford at Jabbok where Jacob wrestled, descends into the pit where Joseph was thrown, climbs the mountain where Moses met God in a burning bush, and passes beneath the window where a scarlet cord hangs in Jericho's ancient wall.

This path is the path of faith. And for twenty-five days, we are going to walk it together.

That is what this book is: an invitation to walk with the faithful. Twenty-five daily devotions, one for each day, drawing from the lives of ten men and women of faith whose stories are preserved in Hebrews 11. Each devotion contains a Scripture, a reflection, and a prayer - designed to be read slowly, prayerfully, and personally.

As you walk this path, you will discover that these were people much like you. They lived in difficult times. They faced impossible circumstances. They struggled with doubt, with fear, with the temptation to give up. And yet they walked. They kept walking. And their walk left a path that you can follow.
