Women are rarely quoted in bible genealogies. But five of them are shamelessly named in the genealogy of Jesus. They are the most undeserving and unlikely persons to be there because of their scandalous stories. Yet God strategically handpicked them to "mother" his son. He made them part of His redemption plan and put them in both sides of his son's ancestry confirming His love, patience, kindness, acceptation. These women were Tamar, a schemer; Rahab, a prostitute; Ruth, a foreigner; Bathsheba, an adulteress and Mary, a virgin.
