Most Christian sermons stop at the slogan: "Just believe in Jesus-nothing else is required." This book refuses to stop halfway. It dares to finish the sentence the Bible itself writes: "...and the faith that saves is never alone."

• The tares are gathered and burned; the wheat is sifted and preserved.

These are not contradictions to grace-they are guardians of it. They awaken the sleeping, convict the complacent, and call the drifting back to Jesus.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)-but there is a loving cry to wake up, to hold fast, and not lose what was freely given.

The faith in Jesus that saves is simple: believe. It is profound: follow. It is secure: rest in His grace. It is fruitful: obey from love.
