Meditations in Captivity explores the story of Joseph.
There are six sessions, each concentrating on a different aspect of the story: favouritism and jealousy; placed by God to witness; doing the right thing; listening to God; trusting God; God works in mysterious ways.
A summary forms a personal and collective response to the previous six sessions and is done partly as homework and partly as a seventh session with a social focus.
Group participation is encouraged in a number of ways, including discussion, researching background knowledge and prayer.
The material is imaginative, sometimes humorous, but also scripturally based and challenging, encouraging each member of the group to seek prayerfully what God is saying to them through scripture.
