"Visit the Corinthian Church" is an exegetical commentary on the Bible book of First Corinthians. Bishop Bob Koonce Th.D., author of the commentary, states that, in his opinion, Paul's first epistle to the church at Corinth is probably the most valuable tool in existence for today's Church. In the First Corinthians epistle, Paul addressed nearly every problem that a church in this age is forced to face. This commentary addresses every verse in First Corinthians from chapter 1:1 through chapter 16:24-the end of the epistle. Some verses are individually explained. In instances where a common subject is evident, multiple verses are grouped together. A prologue precedes the main study of the commentary that provides information concerning the city of Corinth. Corinth, a wealthy city, was noted for the vice and profligacy of its inhabitants. The worship of Venus was attended with shameful licentiousness, providing the wealthy merchants of the city unlimited harlots for their pleasure. Fornication, adultery, celibacy, idol worship, eating meats offered to idols--are but a few of the things addressed in this Commentary. Adding to that list are Paul's directions for the correct way to observe Communion, his instructions for women's behavior in church, women's status compared to man's, etc..
