We Review Lily's Easter Party

A must-buy for Children’s Workers looking for something extra special this Easter!

This book is both a stand-alone Easter story and a children’s resource (with the Resurrection Eggs sold separately). Lily invites her friends over for an Easter Egg Hunt with a Christian twist. Each of the 12 coloured egg contains something that represents Jesus’ amazing resurrection story. Once all the children have found the 12 eggs, Lily’s parents ask each child to open an egg and then explain what the little object inside the egg represents.

I can see this book working really well in Easter services/Sunday Schools, where children experience the excitement of finding the coloured eggs and hear the Easter message in a memorable and visual way. You could either read the story, with the illustrations projected on a PowerPoint, and then do the egg hunt. Or you could take the role of the parents and explain the story after the egg hunt, encouraging the children to open and discover what’s hidden inside the eggs.

I’d recommend you use this story with 4-7 year olds, as children any younger may lose interest with the lengthy narrative. I love it when authors think creatively and breathe fresh life into a story, instead of repackaging it like many have before. I will be pooping this book into the hands of our Children Worker at my church very soon.
