These are the timeless Christian DVDs that can be watched again and again

These classic Christian films have stood the test of time. Infinitely rewatchable and filled with truths which never age, these are the films that have proved stories of faith are just as vivid and powerful on the screen as page:

A remarkable story of faith resisting fascism, Corrie Ten Boom’s life inspired film-goers with a spirit of holding onto Christ throughout dark times. Intense? Yes, but more than that, it grew to become one of the most important Christian films to date.
Proving you don’t need big budgets, sets, and effects to create a blockbuster hit, God’s Not Dead took the USA by storm. Its tale of integrity and belief provoked debate and praise the world over, showing that Christian cinema still has something to say.

Left Behind Trilogy
Few Christian films have even tried to match the scope of the Left Behind series. Based on the book series by Tim LaHaye, Left Behind presents a cinematic version of the end times that left viewers challenged and on the edge of their seats.
The Hiding Place told of people secretly resisting Nazism, but Bonhoeffer hid nothing. His story of open defiance in the name of God is a powerful film of one of the key voices in Christianity.

Part of a new wave of ‘faith-flicks’ coming from America, Fireproof is an unwavering moral fable of faith and marriage which proved Christian films could be exciting and dramatic, but still suitable for the whole family.
For many, myself included, the stunning stop-motion animation of The Miracle Maker has never left my imagination. A ceaselessly creative film of Christ’s life, The Miracle Maker captured the hearts and minds of those who watched its lovingly-made figures.
Shown in youth services for decades now, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone brought up in Church who hasn’t heard of David Wilkerson's gang-filled story of redemption and rescue from dangerous streets of 70’s New York City.
With Sir Ben Kinglsey, Christopher Lee, and Frank Langella all donning cloak and sandals, there was no doubt that this movie of Moses was going to lack dramatic heft. This modern Biblical epic showed that Biblical cinema hadn’t yet been relegated to the past.
Documentaries are going through somewhat of a renaissance at the moment, and Christian are no different. Few Christian documentarians are as prolific as the globe-trotting Darren Wilson, whose entirely Spirit-led films attempt to capture God at work across the world.

The Prince of Egypt
I can still sing (albeit, badly) the iconic When You Believe from this blockbuster animation that launched the the story of Moses into the ranks of great animated movies. Anyone who has watched The Prince of Egypt can attest that, even though it’s moving and thrilling, the Oscar-winning soundtrack is really what it’s all about.
As well as great stories, Christian DVDs have also grown into great platforms for life-changing truths, and Louis Giglio’s Indescribable is a prime example. Funny, moving and challenging, his series of talks has been a small group staple ever since it was recorded.
Blending visual storytelling with perspective-shifting discussions, Rob Bell’s Nooma series showed what happens when creativity and teaching collide. Each one short and memorable, the Nooma short films are an accessible evangelism resource for the 21st Century.
