With cool colours, soft covers and a little help from the smart-phone and computer technology preteens love to use, the iShine Bible connects your 10s to 13s to their true identity, value and purpose in Christ.
Things change fast in the lives of 10s to 13s. Questions of who you are, what you're worth and why you're here are critical to preteens as they grow from child to young adult. iShine is the new NLT Bible concept specifically created for the questioning years between childhood and teens.
First and foremost, iShine is a full text NLT Bible in modern, stylish, soft-feel covers. Coloured 'iShine BackStage Blue' for Boys, and 'iShine LipSync Pink' for Girls, any preteen would love to own, carry and be seen with these pocket sized soft Bibles. Each leather-look copy - in a glossy gift-worthy sleeve, is packed with extra resources and information geared up for preteen life.
Everything about iShine is focused on helping preteens find and keep their value, identity and purpose in Christ, leading them into a life that shines in the hi-tech world young people live in today. But there’s more to the iShine than you’ll find in its printed pages.
iShine brings Bible reading to the world of preteens with smart phone QR (Quick Response) codes to give your 10s to 13s safe and easy access to the support and encouragement of an online Bible reading community.
If you've never heard of a QRs, don't worry - your preteenager will know all about them. QRs are the wacky black-and-white patterns - looking like deranged crosswords or surrealist chess boards, that appear in shop windows, on house for sale signs, cereal boxes and even tech-savvy church notice boards.
Scan a QR with your smart phone, and you get a short cut to related online resources and information. Scanning the iShine QRs, or following the internet link, connects preteens to a safe online site where they'll find age appropriate Bible study, worship music, faith event guides and tons of Bible information. It's a virtual Bible study, but tailored and filtered for 10s to 13s.
Preteens are demanding Bible users. They want to be treated like teenagers, but aren’t ready for the content designed for the older group. It’s hard to find Bibles they’ll want to be seen with and Bible studies that they’ll want to use – and this, I think, is especially true for boys.
The QR codes and online resources are a brilliant idea, but you don’t need the technology to really enjoy these Bibles. There’s lots of encouraging help and information inside the iShine’s covers dealing with: values - what matters to you, identity – discovering who you are, and purpose – why are you here at all. Tough questions with direct, Bible based answers.
In my opinion, iShine does a good job. The Bibles are small, smart and cool. They don’t embarrass the fashion conscious with ‘holy’ covers, and they help preteens with their big questions of finding your faith, finding your worth, finding yourself, and finding your purpose in Christ. – Les Ellison
