Bringing the Gospel home
Full Product Description
A messianic Jew who has led several family members to Christ, Newman urges Christians to look to the Bible before they evangelize. He writes, Ďa richer understanding of biblical truth, I have found, can provide a firmer foundation for bold witness and clear communication.í After a brief introduction on the nature of family, he delves into discussions of grace, truth, love, humility, and time. He also addresses issues related to eternity and end-of-life conversations. Bringing the Gospel Home will help any Christian who is seeking to guide loved ones into Godís family.
'Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our closest relatives and friends is something we naturally care passionately about, but it is also a task we often feel most ill-equipped for. Randy Newman has done the church a great service by writing such clear, empathetic, helpful and Biblical advice on a topic so many of us struggle with.'Steven Stanton, Friends International Staff Worker
'Newman has challenged and charmed lay audiences as a plenary speaker at apologetics conferences sponsored by the Evangelical Philosophical Society. His approach to evangelism is a wonderful blend of thoughtful faith and deep compassion for people. You will be inspired by his insights.'William Lane Craig, author of A Reasonable Faith

Bringing the Gospel HomeAlice Collins, via The Good Book Stall
The phrase ‘not for the faint-hearted’ springs to mind when reading this insightful but challenging text. Not everybody, least of all every Christian who should, will appreciate Randy Newman’s provocative illustrations. He points out that family is so important to God, and that evangelism should start at home. He cites the example of Saul, who was responsible for having Stephen stoned to death. A cousin or relative of Saul could have been sitting around some prayer meeting centuries ago asking his fellow believers if they wouldn’t mind praying for a lost soul. Who knows, he might even have been on the road to Emmaus at the time. The author personally interviewed people of faith, who had brothers or sisters on the other side, addled by drugs, and gives examples of other siblings who have come to faith because the eldest led by example, and in some cases rather forcefully handed out Christian tracts, sometimes without parental knowledge. This book shows that we have Christian responsibility towards our immediate and wider Christian family, and is an invaluable encouragement for a would-be evangelist struggling to get their loved ones to listen to them.
