In recent times the American Psychological Association amongst others has encouraged research into what makes people happy, and their findings have been picked up fairly widely by the media. The good life and goodness are finally in conversation again. "Time" magazine in particular carried a selection of the research on happiness and came up with 8 key themes. These themes form the basis of this book. The authors believe that each theme has a latent spiritual connection and they draw these connections out in a very practical, 'how to' approach. Themes are: Count your blessings; Practice acts of kindness; Savour life's joys; Thank a mentor; Learn to forgive; Invest time and energy in friends and family; Take care of your body; and, Develop strategies for coping with stress and hardships.
