Cat opens up and shares her own story of being partner of a porn user and the betrayal trauma she experienced. Leading researcher, Barb Steffans, helps us understand the impact on a partner which can include PTSD symptoms. They discuss an extract from Lyschel Burket's PWORD talk which unpacks the impact on a partner's faith and how Churches can help or hinder them and how to talk practically about forgiveness with partners.

When compulsive/addictive and/or secret pornography use is uncovered in a relationship, it can cause deep emotional pain and confusion for the partner or spouse. It can feel as though their whole world doesn't make sense any more, as they digest what feels like impossible information. Historically, partners and spouses have often been overlooked in church contexts, as all focus has been given to the person with the pornography problem. We believe that this represents an opportunity for the Church to provide healing and support. This webinar was recorded in March 2025 and is designed for church leaders and those involved in supporting people. In the webinar we cover: \- Understanding the traumatic impact of deceptive sexual behaviour and its impact on individuals and relationships. \- Practical ways churches can respond to this challenge with compassion and care. \- Resources and programs that churches can use to support those struggling with pornography and their affected partners.

This guide is designed to enable people to facilitate small recovery groups within their local church. Facilitators will utilise our Ctrl-Alt-Del course, a free programme helping people address struggles with pornography. The pack provides five structured session outlines with introductions, ground rules, discussion prompts, scripture reflections, prayer times, and practical exercises. Each session explores key themes such as recognising the impact of porn, overcoming shame, identifying triggers, building accountability, and deepening reliance on God. The guide equips leaders to create safe, honest, and supportive spaces for participants to process their experiences and take steps toward freedom. The notes assume that individuals will complete each online module at home the week before the meeting, you can then use the small group to process, reflect and pray together.
