We are a large number of individual Christians from countries all around the world, who are friends and supporters of the Dohnavur Fellowship in South India, and the work they are doing to care for the needs of poor and vulnerable people. The Dohnavur Fellowship works towards holistic development, running projects across the areas of Child Development, Education, Health and Social Care, Community Development, Eco-farming and Nature conservation. All of this is with the express goal of serving the most vulnerable and marginalised people in South India. Founded originally in 1901 by Amy Carmichael (fondly known as ‘Amma’) as a home for rescued children, the good work continues today as a wholly independently-run Indian Christian organisation comprising many descendents of the Fellowship who grew up and chose to dedicate their lives to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others in need.

The organisation has continued to help in the maintenance of the fabric of Holy Trinity Church. No major repairs or large purchases have been made this year.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

The charity runs a farm in the heart of Dartmoor to which it organises visits, historically disadvantaged children from London, but increasingly youth from Devon and the South West to experience life and work on a farm. The trustees hope their visitors will gain greater knowledge of the wider created order and a Christian understanding of it, responsibility and care for the environment.
