Engagement and Support Coordinator (Manchester and Merseyside)

Who we are Safe Families and Home for Good is a Christian, community-based charity that seeks to see children and families thrive. Safe Families empowers local volunteers, predominately from the church, to engage with those most at need. We exist to create relationship and connection, offering support, hope and belonging to improve the lives of those in our communities, because everyone deserves to belong. Working hand-in-hand with Children’s Services and local authorities, we link children, young people and families with local volunteers who can offer help and support. Working with a large volunteer base Safe Families assists families in crisis by offering remote support, respite care to children and befriending to struggling parents and carers.

Role Overview The Engagement and Support Coordinator helps turn interest into action. It’s about responding to, facilitating and supporting those who seek to play their part in our mission through giving, praying or serving. The team guides individuals as they translate their initial response into relevant actions, and supports them for the long haul.

There are three interconnected aspects of the Engagement and Support Team’s work:

Acting as the front door to the charity translating initial responses into tangible action. Helping those who respond to know how they can play their part and what they need to do next to achieve this. Holding those who respond and ensuring they are afforded connection and belonging in the long term both while they play their part and while they await their next opportunity. You would work as part of the Manchester Team which includes staff who are located across the city and surrounding area. You will need to be able to easily travel and work across Manchester with some travel to Merseyside. This role is part time with full time hours considered.
