Recovering Racists is a powerful and necessary invitation to journey toward racial healing and structural justice. Idelette McVicker writes with both vulnerability and authority, sharing personal stories that highlight the deep-seated impact of white supremacy on our lives and institutions. This book does not merely identify the problem; it provides a roadmap for the ongoing, often difficult work of repentance and restoration. You are invited to examine your own heart and history, learning how to name the systems of racism that surround us while actively working to reclaim our shared humanity. By exploring the intersection of faith and race, McVicker shows how genuine reconciliation requires more than just good intentions—it demands a commitment to honest listening and sacrificial action. This book is an essential read for anyone ready to move past defensive reactions and engage in the transformative process of becoming a more faithful, inclusive witness in a divided world. You will find encouragement, challenge, and a hopeful path forward as you work towards a society that reflects the love and justice of God.
