During His time on earth, the Lord Jesus Christ taught many things by way of parables, outstanding among them is The Parable of the Sower. As a parable it stands on its own and seems to be a key to understanding all other parable, for Christ insisted, "You do not understand this parable? How them are you able to understand any parable?" (Mark 4:13). The author gives a thorough and thought provoking treatment of The Parable of the Sower, linking it very much to the kingdom of God which he emphasizes as 'then kingdom of God'. Thus neither the parable nor the kingdom can be understood apart from God's sovereignty intervening in the affairs of man ... for no amount of human effort will bring about His kingdom.
