Jesus is the first man who shows no animosity toward the feminine; this constitutes a historical event" (Hanna Wolff).
Jesus came to lead a revolution, to change the parameters and concepts that existed in His time regarding traditions and religion. He did so authentically, without demagoguery, and most importantly, through action-delivering messages with deeds that, when carefully analyzed, reveal a side of Jesus we sometimes overlook: a Christ committed to the despised and to all those who, in one way or another, experienced injustice.
Christ spoke with women when no one else did; He taught them when doing so was regarded as throwing pearls before swine; He included them as disciples when such a gesture was considered an affront; He referred to them as "daughters of Abraham" when it was believed that only men could hold that status; He allowed Himself to be touched, especially by marginalized women, who were deeply despised for simply being who they were; and He entrusted women with the most extraordinary mission-the proclamation of His resurrection. Most importantly, at no time and in no way did He ever show any form of discrimination against women, something that was common among the religious leaders of His time. Christ simply did not act that way.
The message of Christ is so important, so overwhelmingly vital-how unfortunate that many still fail to grasp it. For God, there are no first- and second-class human beings. Jesus, who reveals God, demonstrates this truth perfectly. His followers can do no less.
