Communism in Prophecy, History and America by Rev. Gerald B. Winrod presents Communism as the modern expression of an ancient spiritual and political conspiracy directed against Christianity and constitutional government. Interpreting biblical prophecy through contemporary events, Winrod connects Communism with the Four Horsemen of Revelation and the prophecies of Ezekiel, identifying Soviet Russia with the forces of Gog and portraying revolution, war, famine, and totalitarianism as elements of an approaching prophetic crisis. He then traces what he regards as Communism's historical roots through occultism, Illuminism, Adam Weishaupt and the Illuminati, the French Revolution, Karl Marx, and Bolshevism, arguing that the same revolutionary program continued into the twentieth century. Turning finally to the United States, Winrod warns of Communist penetration of American institutions, propaganda, political influence, international finance, the New Deal, and movements toward centralized and world government, presenting the defense of Christianity and American constitutional liberty as part of a larger struggle against international Communism.
