What would cause you to be deceived? There are emotional places you can find yourself in that will make you vulnerable to "Winds Of Doctrine". When greed invades our life, when pride rolls over us because of a great victory that we have won, when the light of the Word of God is used to expose sin, when pain causes us to look for a quick exit and many other watershed moments in life makes a new belief that is being promoted by the popular very attractive. They are not new revelations from God but they are just recycled lies from the pits of hell. When people reject truth, they replace it with false doctrine. One of the safeguards we can place in our lives is to study these "Winds Of Doctrine" so that we won't be deceived by them.
