Sharon attended Arcadia University (Pennsylvania) and Lake Forest College (Illinois) and received a BA from the University of Minnesota. Together, Mike and Sharon also attended the American Institute of Holy Land Studies, now Jerusalem University College. The Rustens live in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
