"Infinite potentates have raged against this book [the Bible], and sought to destroy and uproot it . . . they are all gone and vanished, while the book remains and will remain forever. . . . And 'tis no small miracle how God has so long preserved and protected this book; for the devil and the world are sore against it." - Martin Luther Guardians of the Word is a record of some of the miraculous ways God has "so long preserved and protected this book"-the Holy Bible.
Today the Bible is under attack like never before. Its history and authenticity are being challenged by both secularists and the religious.- Can the Bible be trusted?

• How does the Bible we read today compare with what was originally written?
• Why are there so many different Bible versions?
• Who decided which books should be included in the Bible?

In layman's terms this book offers the answers to these common questions. The Bible is God's Word for all people.
God's plan for salvation and Christian growth encompasses "every tribe and tongue." And yet, God Himself instigated the diversity of languages. To address this, God has called faithful servants who have sacrificed their own safety and comfort to carry out the important task of preserving the accuracy of the Scriptures down through the ages as it is made accessible to everyone. From the scribes to the scholars who gave us the English Bible to the translators in the mission field today, their stories are remarkable. Learning about guardians of the Word such as John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, Martin Luther, King James, William Carey, Hudson Taylor, Cameron Townsend, and others, will inspire you with the realization that God indeed uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for His Kingdom.
