In this significant volume, William Law offers a robust defence of the gospel against the theological errors of his time. By addressing specific critiques and reclaiming the biblical definition of regeneration, Law provides readers with the tools to distinguish between worldly wisdom and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. He explores the profound necessity of the 'new birth,' helping the reader understand that true Christian life is not merely an external change in habits, but an inward transformation that reconciles the soul to God. The arguments presented are both sharp and deeply rooted in the foundational doctrines of the faith. For the modern reader seeking to understand the historical battles for biblical truth or those who desire a firmer grasp on the nature of salvation and spiritual renewal, this volume serves as an invaluable resource. Law’s passion for the truth will encourage you to seek a faith that is grounded in the reality of God’s grace and the power of the cross.
