The Church has two theological conceptions. First, the visible body of Christ gathering on the surface of earth to worship and serve Christ. Second, the Church is the invisible body of Christ, those Christians of all age who have passed into glory until final resurrection day. Church does not completely mean physical building as we see in our contemporary time. Thus, when Jesus declares: "I will build my Church" (Mt. 16:18), the term was very familiar to his context and audience or the common listeners of his time. Shortly after, in the New Testament, the Church was soon strictly to refer to the congregation of believers in Jesus Christ. Lack of understanding of the usage and application of the term "church" and "denomination" have great impacts and implications to the entire body of Christ in this terrestrial plane. This work will provide insights and some theological critique to provide a how denominations and churches influence missions.
