Based on John Owen’s Classic Texts, This Resource Equips Readers to Kill Sin and Resist Temptation

“If you’re not killing sin, sin will be killing you.” With this sober warning, Puritan John Owen reminds us of the battle raging within every believer’s heart. Our nature, which favors the dark and ugly, can keep us trapped in the same patterns of sin if we’re not ready for the fight. Are you prepared for the battle? Are your weapons sharpened? Is the enemy in your sights?

In this book, pastor Mike McKinley draws practical wisdom from John Owen’s classic texts to help believers resist temptation and wage war against indwelling sin. Each chapter corresponds with one of Owen’s original chapters, clarifying his words for modern readers. On our own, the battle against sin will only lead to failure or self-righteousness, but in Christ and with the power of the Holy Spirit, we can fight with confidence, knowing our victory against the enemy is sure.
