What a strong start to a new series examining the central themes of Christian thought and life! And what a key subject to start with, the subject of Grace, a word we frequently bandy about but a subject that often we don't give full consideration to in terms of what we actually mean by it. Grace is used in so many different ways and this book attempts to clarify and show the theological, biblical and historical ways this word has been used, and more importantly to highlight the importance of that which is Grace, Gods Grace, manifest in different ways.
While being academically sound it is not rigorous to read or understand; instead it is clear, revealing and just challenging enough to leave one aware that due consideration must be given to the way in which we use such important terms as Grace if we want to do them justice.
I'd consider this a key resource in any parish library and certainly a book for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of what Grace is. Although there are no questions included in the book to make it a study, it would still be a good book to undertake to read at group level and to discuss at length
