Paul's letter to the Colossians is a tricky letter. Though quite short, it is packed with dense imagery that unfolds further as we dig deeper. Paul argues against the use of philosophy, while writing one of the most profound letters in the canon. Paul tackles head-on a growing tendency toward Gnostic ideas, which would undermine the centrality of Jesus' death and resurrection. Given that these Gnostic ideas are alive and well in today's Church, Deepak tackles the letter to the Colossians in these devotions with the aim of convincing the reader that our hope rests on our full and embodied transformation by the triune God.
