He came home from war believing God was either absent or cruel. He never expected God to meet him in the waiting room instead.

Christopher Collins grew up knowing about God but not knowing Him -- until deployment to Iraq stripped away every illusion of control. Between mortar blasts and folded flags, his faith turned to anger, then to silence. Coming home didn't end the battle; it just moved it inside.

Years later, on a family vacation, Chris performed CPR on his father's lifeless body for ten agonizing minutes while his mother screamed and his daughters waited outside. His father's heart stopped twice. He was shocked eleven times. Doctors gave him less than a half percent chance of survival -- and couldn't explain what happened next.

God Is in the Waiting is Chris's candid story of the struggles he carried, the pain he didn't expect, and the grace that showed up in hospital rooms and in a heart that wasn't sure it could believe again_._ It's a story about a soldier who once cursed God, a father brought back from the edge of death, and a family transformed one baptism at a time. Each chapter closes with reflection questions and prayer, inviting readers to find their own waiting room -- and the God who's already there.

If you've ever mistaken silence for absence, this book is for you.
