Individual and family optimal development is determined by the quality of one's reasoning and decision-making skills and abilities. Decisions also determine the health and wealth of the family and family system. Critical decision-making starts in the adolescent and young adult stages as they embark on their life journey, whether they understand it and are prepared or not. It is not meant for us to just hook up with anyone.

God's plan is for us to be patient, apply wisdom, and use discretion while waiting for someone with whom we can have a healthy exchange of shared values, godly values, and be equally yoked. Many individual and family systems fall into hardships because of individuals' unacceptable behaviors and practices, such as substance abuse, recreational sexual activity, or criminal activity.

God allows people free will in their decision-making. However, his expectation is for them to use the wisdom he imparts to them.

Origin of accountability. Wisdom is the origin of accountability, getting understanding and knowledge, and allowing wisdom to be one's tutor and guide through developing a life, family, and financial plan. Role modeling accountability is to be learned and nurtured in one's young children, helping them develop accountable and responsible characteristics in reasoning, what is a good choice and behavior, and the implications of the outcomes-right and wrong paths to take. By children observing these behaviors in their parents, they can become learned behaviors in children.

The origin of wisdom.

The Lord by His wisdom has founded the earth; by His understanding He has established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up And the clouds drip with dew. My son, let them not escape from your sight, But keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life to your soul. (Proverbs 3:19-22 AMP)
