Have you experienced real joy? Before you answer this question, you must realize that joy and happiness are two different things. For instance, if your favorite athletic team wins, then you're happy until they lose. If you get a raise at work, you're happy until you have raised your credit limit because of it. Joy, on the other hand, is long-lasting. I define it as a feeling of contentment that comes from everything being well, with your soul. It is actually possible to be unhappy and still have joy. It is possible to be angry and still find joy. I have gone down a very turbulent road in my life and continue to do so. Joy does not come from the things you possess but from who you spend your time with. This book is the story of the rocky road that I experienced and how I still managed to find joy. As a child, I went through an accident that almost killed me. It put me behind in school and life, and yet I was able to bounce back and succeed. God is real. You just need to look for him. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) Seeking with all your heart takes quite a bit of work. When you seek with all your heart, you will see three things. First, you will see all those times in your life that you thought God was not there, but he was.
