Sir Garfield Todd (1908-2002) was a lifelong supporter of African rights who immigrated to Southern Rhodesia from New Zealand in 1934 as a Protestant missionary and ran the Dadaya New Zealand Churches of Christ Mission school. This is an inspiring collection of his uplifting speeches. It provides an analysis of their rhetorical and political significance and reveals how his speeches helped foster democracy in Africa.
