Margaret Rizza has chosen 218 of the most beau­tiful hymns which are contem­plative in nature and which invite us to enter more deeply into prayer.

They are perfect for moments of prayer and medi­tation during church services. Choir leaders will find many are particularly fitting for use during the service of Holy Communion.

Margaret Rizza has included some of the hymns for the music, others for their words, many for the sim­plicity and beauty of both. 'But nearly all were chosen because I have heard them sung - people spontaneously expres­sing their love and dependence on God through music,' she explains.

'I pray that in singing these hymns you may be drawn more deeply in­to prayer and to 'Be still and know that I am God' (Psalm 46:10).
