The tree in the midst of the Garden of Eden was a type of sacrifice to God. Every sacrifice is always associated with blessings when it is obeyed but attracts a curse when it is disobeyed. But there is always pains in carrying out the act of sacrifice which many people finds very difficult to adhere. This was the same with Eve in the Garden. It was a painful thing to carry out the instruction of God concerning the tree in the midst of the Garden. We can clearly see that attitude in her when the serpent beguiled her. In Genesis 3:6, it is stated there;
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise...
She saw that the tree was good for food, pleasant to the eyes and to be desired to make one wise. God will always give you an opportunity to test your obedience so that at the end it will be a seed of blessings to you. Most times, when an opportunity of blessing comes your way in the form of sacrifice to God, it is then that satan will present that sacrifice to look good, pleasant and much desired to you. When you yield to his temptation by not obeying God, then you attract a curse.
