This is a groundbreaking study into the relationship between forms of spirituality, media and its effect on social reform. The word 'spirituality' has increasing presence, coming to refer to something recontextualized and reimagined outside of the boundaries of formal religion, and attached to everything from consumer goods to the New Age to eco-activism. Key to these processes is the media in their globalized presence and in their penetration of cultures.
